1xBet news: 1xCare names advisory group
1xCare named an Advisory Committee to keep watch over its work on gambling risks and player protection. A report on 16 July 2026 carried the news. The group said it would oversee this work on its own. 1xCare was set up by the owner of the 1xBet global brand. It launched at iGB Live earlier in July.
Who sits on the committee
Simon Westbury is chairperson. He leads the plan across the four pillars. He chairs the committee and leads policy oversight and how money is handed out. He speaks for the group. He also keeps an eye on ethical standards and on whether NGOs follow the rules.
Quirino Mancini covers regulation and law. He advises on legal standards, research ethics and handling risk. He builds links with regulators, governments and universities.
Chris Bird covers sport and integrity. He works through EduCare on gambling awareness in sports settings. He also helps with well-being work.
Sissel Weitzhändler covers public policy and regulation. She works with regulators and NGOs on help backed by evidence. She oversees public-interest funding and checks the work of NGOs.
The four pillars are the Research Hub, EduCare, TechShield, and Support and Well-Being.
1xCare said more academic and sports-integrity appointments are planned.
