1xBet Becomes Main Sponsor of Peru's Liga 2

1xBet agreed a deal with the Peruvian Football Federation, the FPF. The deal made 1xBet the main sponsor of Liga 2. Liga 2 is Peru's second-highest football division.

Trade press reported the sponsorship on 22 May 2023. A separate trade report on 17 May 2023 described a signing ceremony in Lima on 16 May 2023.

A one-year deal with clear goals

The first agreement ran for one year, with an option to extend. Its stated aim was to raise the league's visibility. FPF president Agustín Lozano linked the deal to the professionalisation of the league. He also linked it to clubs' economic stability. Those were goals, not measured results.

The 17 May report said the league would temporarily take the name Liga 2 1xBet under the agreement. It said the league logo was to appear on match kit, the official league website, club and league social media, tickets and stadium banners. It said 1xBet could use league images and videos and club logos in its promotional material.

Carlos Eduardo Ferreira spoke as a 1xBet official representative. He said the deal would extend the operator's support for sport. He said it would help raise the profile of the tournament and its clubs. He added that 1xBet runs similar work in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
